This policy describes what information 40 Points ("the site", "we") collects when you use fortypoints.app, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you provide. To play, you enter a display name. We store that name together with the table you have joined and the seat you occupy, for as long as that table exists.

Information stored in your browser. The site places a token in your browser's local storage so that you can return to a table after closing the tab. This token identifies your seat at a table and nothing else.

Server logs. Like most web servers, ours records the IP address, time and requested path of each request. These logs are retained for a short period for the purpose of operating and securing the service.

We do not require an account, do not collect email addresses or other contact details in the course of play, and do not use third-party analytics.

Advertising

The site uses Google AdSense to display advertising.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Users may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. Cookies and local storage

• Local storage entries under shengji — set by us. Hold the tables you have joined and the display name you last used, so a closed tab can rejoin. Sent only to our own server.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google and its partners as described above. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

How information is used

The information described above is used solely to operate the game (seating you at a table, letting you rejoin it, and keeping the service secure) and, in the case of advertising cookies, to serve and measure advertising. We do not sell personal information.

Data retention

Table data, including display names, is deleted when the table is removed, which occurs after a period of inactivity. Server logs are retained briefly and then discarded. Local storage remains in your browser until you clear it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are indicated by the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
